Study: Ports Contribute Highly To Global Trade

 

A majority of countries still rely on maritime transport in carrying-out trade needs, according to new UN-backed study.

The port performance index, used by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to measure a country’s connectivity to the global shipping network has found that most  countries continue to use shipping containers in conducting international trade.
